Controlled Free WiFi Internet at Grand Daddy Hotel
Leading Cape Town based hotel group Daddy Long Legs has acquired Skyrove’s hassle free and fully supported Wi-Fi solution for its latest expansion, the Grand Daddy Hotel. Situated in Long Street, the Group’s venues comprise of The Art Hotel, Self Catering Apartments, The Grand Daddy and finally 7 vintage Airstreams on the roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel – each of these boasting its own contemporary, unconventional design.
Guests can now stay at any of the Daddy Long Legs hotels and enjoy Skyrove’s Wi-Fi Internet access. At the Grand Daddy all guests will receive a 20 Megabytes venue branded voucher upon check-in. Guests can buy additional vouchers or top up using their credit cards. Skyrove’s limited free hotspot option has already been widely adapted in the hospitality industry as it gives the venue full control over the free amount that they give away, is secure and protects the venue from abuse and is an opportunity to increase customer loyalty by handing guests a free branded voucher.
Sergio Dreyer, GM of Grand Daddy says: “It is a pleasure forming another partnership with South Africa’s leading Wi-Fi hotspot provider. We are thrilled to have found a partner for our group that has delivered such an outstanding level of service. The way Skyrove’s controlled free Internet solution works is the best possible solution for our new 4-star hotel.”

Well done.
I’ve just spend 4 R80 vouchers at a JHB Airport Hotel where one pays R1 per minute. Nasty when you need to be online. Must Skyrove. Soon.
Hey, you guys are copying http://redbutton.co.za/free-wifi-product.htm
There solution is much nicer though.
Thanks for the comment Molo Cape Town! We’re working on it!
Thanks for the comment James.
Our system was actually built to spec for a client last year, rather than being copied from, or even inspired by, RedButton’s solution and differs in a number of ways. (Either way, I think IS/Always-On were giving 10 min free access at Mugg&Bean cafes several years ago). Most importantly, our offering doesn’t suffer from the same security flaws.
For example, with RedButton’s solution, a hotel or restaurant cannot control to whom free internet access is given. Considering the cost of internet access in South Africa, I think it’s fair for restaurant owners to only give access to patrons, rather than giving free internet access to anyone who can pick up their Wi-Fi signal.
I see that you have never registered for Skyrove before. Let me know if you’d like to try Skyrove so that you can make a better comparison!
Hi. Okay, would like to try Skyrove. How do I contact you to try it?
Great work guys, staying there in July so will be doing some surfing from the trailer park!
Molo Cape Town. You’ve spent 4 R80 vouchers on Wifi in Jo’Burg airport and you use it by posting a topic here. Wow. Dedicated.
